Morth Mariam Vanitha Samajam (MMVS) is the spiritual association of the Malankara Orthodox Church of India dedicated to female members. It was founded in 1920 under the leadership of Rev. M. C. Kuriakose Remban and K. M. Annamma, and co-workers. This spiritual organization continues to rally and live its motto of 'pray, act and shine' in their parishes, in their homes, and in their daily lives.
Amidst all challenges, the MMVS is very active in supporting the Church activities such as arranging food for events held by the Church, bake sales during Church picnics, preparing children for cultural events such as OVBS to name a few.
A Brief History
The Samajam members who are young mothers to grandmothers are actively working together in making themselves and other members ever more faithful to Christianity by holding Prayer Meetings, Bible Study, discussions on how they can serve within the Church and the community every month under the guidance of our Vicar. Our Samajam members actively participate in Retreats, Prayer Meetings, Conferences, Bible Classes and Quiz Competitions held in the Diocesan level. Our first MMVS Secretary was Ms. Bindu Cyril.
